Sending an invoice changes it from an internal draft into customer-facing billing work. Review the invoice and portal behavior first, then send it from Money.

What this guide helps you do

  • Send a draft invoice from Money.
  • Understand when the customer portal link can be copied or opened.
  • Use AI to prepare review notes without sending automatically.

Before you start

  • The invoice should be a draft or otherwise eligible to send.
  • Customer email, amount, due date, line items, and memo should already be reviewed.
  • Know whether a teammate or manager must approve before sending.

Do it manually

  1. Open Money and choose Get Paid.
  2. Filter to Invoices and open the invoice drawer.
  3. Review the full invoice details and customer-facing fields.
  4. Click Send when the invoice is ready.
  5. Refresh or reopen the drawer to confirm the status changed.
  6. Copy or open the customer portal link after the invoice is sent.

Ask Faster AI

  • Review this invoice for missing customer-facing details and tell me whether it is ready to send.
  • Prepare a short invoice send note for this customer, but do not send until I confirm.
  • Find draft invoices over $1,000 that are missing due dates or customer emails.

Review before saving, sending, paying, or refunding

  • Confirm the invoice is meant for this customer and this billing period.
  • Do not share a portal link for an unsent invoice.
  • Check whether the invoice should be sent now or scheduled through a separate follow-up workflow.

Common issues and fixes

  • If Send is disabled, check invoice status and required fields.
  • If the portal link is unavailable, send the invoice and refresh.
  • If the customer reports the wrong amount, review whether to revise, credit, void, or issue a new invoice based on your business policy.

Placeholder media

  • Screenshot placeholder: add an annotated screenshot of send an invoice with customer names, amounts, account details, and private notes blurred.
  • Video placeholder: add a short walkthrough that starts from the Money workspace, shows the manual path, then shows the review step before anything is sent, paid, refunded, or published.
