Set pipeline stages and owners

Replace this area with a screenshot or short walkthrough video during the media sweep.

Pipeline stages should match how your business actually moves work from inquiry to won, lost, delivered, or renewed. Owners make sure each opportunity has someone accountable.

What this guide helps you do

  • Use clear stages for opportunity progress.
  • Assign owners and update stages from the pipeline board.
  • Use AI to review stage readiness before applying bulk moves.

Before you start

  • Agree on the stage names and what each stage means.
  • Decide who owns each opportunity and what owner changes imply.
  • Check whether won and lost outcomes should be visible in the current view.

Do it manually

  1. Open Customers and choose Pipeline.
  2. Review visible stages and focus filters.
  3. Create or open an opportunity.
  4. Set owner, value, close date, company, person, and current stage.
  5. Drag or move the opportunity to the next stage when work progresses.
  6. Use selected deal actions only after reviewing the affected deals.

Ask Faster AI

  • Review our pipeline stages and suggest clearer names for a service business. Do not apply changes yet.
  • Move selected opportunities to Proposal Sent after previewing which records will change.
  • Find opportunities without owners and prepare an assignment plan for review.

Review before saving or applying

  • Confirm selected deals before bulk moves.
  • Check stage definitions so the team uses the board consistently.
  • Do not mark won or lost until the customer outcome is confirmed.

Common issues and fixes

  • If a deal appears in the wrong stage, open it and check the stage field.
  • If owner filters hide work, clear filters or review owner assignment.
  • If stage changes need to be reverted, use the recent move session or manually move affected deals back after review.

Placeholder media

  • Screenshot placeholder: add an annotated screenshot of set pipeline stages and owners with customer names, emails, phone numbers, amounts, file names, and private notes blurred.
  • Video placeholder: add a short walkthrough that starts in Customers, shows the manual path, then shows how to ask Faster AI and review the result before saving, sending, merging, or assigning work.

Use it in daily operations

  • Before saving, confirm the customer, company, owner, lifecycle stage, and next action are correct for the business process.
  • When AI helps with customer context, ask it to summarize the record and list assumptions so a teammate can review without exposing private details publicly.
  • Use tasks, notes, saved views, or pipeline updates to turn customer context into an explicit follow-up instead of leaving it only in the timeline.
